Dr. Bernard Mallinger is the founder of Optometric Associates of Pittsburgh. He completed his undergraduate study at the University of Pittsburgh, and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Mallinger is a diplomate of the Gesell Institute of Child Development at Yale, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is the staff Optometrist at Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Monroeville and is also the team Optometrist for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Dr. Maria Higgins is a graduate of Millersville University and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She has special interest in contact lenses, diabetic eye problems and ocular disease. Dr. Higgins is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and is the staff Optometrist at Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley. She has been voted Young Optometrist of the Year for both Pennsylvania and Western Pennsylvania. She is also the eye doctor for the Pittsburgh Passion, the women's football team.
